Project 2024

In 2024, the committee agreed to improve the front entrance area using a grant from the city.  52% of the homes participated.   There was 105.75 man hours.   The cost of material was $8956.67.  The city grant pays a set fee per hour of manual labor.  The board voted to added 2 extra pallets of grass for the middle area.  The final cost to the HOA was $3198.32. Below are the areas of improvement in the front enterance.

The first priority of the grant was updating the mailbox area. This task was handled by a contractor, who worked to refresh the space while keeping some familiar elements. The old mailboxes were reused, but new light fixtures were added, along with a redesigned, more open structure that helps reduce the presence of spiders and enhances the overall look.

The second focus was updating the sign and enhancing the surrounding greenery.  The lettering was replaced and the sign received a fresh coat of paint. To improve visibility, plants behind the sign were moved forward, making room for fresh grass. In front of the sign, vibrant roses were added, creating a seamless connection with the new rose plantings along the roadside, adding beauty and continuity to the landscape.

Our latest landscaping update focused on removing the frost-damaged bushes left behind by the 2021 Snowpocalypse. Thanks to a creative suggestion from Tracy on the project committee, we chose a fresh, colorful alternative to plain grass: drift roses. These low-maintenance beauties stay lush through winter and burst into vibrant blooms during the summer heat—bringing year-round charm to the space.

Project 2025

This year, the committee decided to address the long-neglected tennis court. Since the formation of the HOA in 2002, it hadn’t seen any updates. Homeowners took the initiative to remove the chipped asphalt, and while the surface may not be the most visually appealing, it’s now seen a game of pickle ball or two!  Total cost of project to date is $1400.   1/3 of the homes participated.
